And while our level of technical knowledge is extensive, we pride ourselves even more on the personal side of business, building long-term relationships of trust and credibility with our clients.

A.J. Zabbia, Jr. P.E., C.C.E

Being the founder and President of the company, A.J. provides overall guidance and vision for the operation of the company. He also provides liaison and coordination services for high profile land development projects in the Central Platte Valley in lower downtown Denver, and was a valued member of the Denver Zoning Code Task Force. In addition, he is the District Engineer for the Central Platte Valley Metropolitan District. Finally, A.J. has provided expert witness testimony on numerous engineering-related court cases.

Kevin M. O’Connell, P.E.

Kevin provides project management insight for many of our projects to keep them on track and on budget. In addition, he is District Engineer for the Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District and prepares design and  provides coordination for their projects.  Kevin’s background includes degrees in both law and engineering and he is a member of the Colorado Bar.

Derek Lis, P.E., LEED AP

In his position as Project Engineer, Derek prepares roadway and utility designs and drainage studies for our clients. He has also developed strong relationships with City and County review personnel and can efficiently facilitate permit issuance and project approvals. During project construction, he provides observation and contract administration. With our commitment to efficient design and sustainability, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Matthew E. Olley, L.S.I.

Matt provides the surveying services for the Company and for our clients. From gathering and processing in-field data for design to preparing ALTA Surveys, plats, legal descriptions and exhibits, Matt monitors the in-field placement aspects of projects and client needs. He also assists in the preparation of land development Site Plans and interacts with City and County Agencies through the review and approval process.

Jeanine A. Martinez

Jeanine performs an all-important dual role for the organization, acting as both Executive Assistant and Office Manager. She handles payroll, health benefits, monthly billing, day to day office operations and helps monitor the financial health of the company along with the President. In addition, she assists staff with reports, pay requests and other duties as needed. When you call 68West, it is likely to be Jeanine that greets you with a warm welcome.
